Welcome to Pardes Levavot!
In our Orchard of Hearts, this year, we will welcome the New Year with a contemplative ritual that is sourced in the rhythms and themes of our liturgy, even as it is completely new. In other words, this will not be like your grandparents’ High Holidays! Come prepared to be silent, chant, journal and wrestle with the questions posed.
We hope you’ll find spiritual nourishment in our practice and be challenged to contemplate how YOU want to respond to the question:

a note from Jon:
We’ll walk contemplatively in nature, at the Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat [3893 N 75th St, Boulder, CO 80301] to open to what lessons Mother Nature has for us regarding offerings and service. We always start this work by intentionally dropping in and connecting to our surroundings and nature, and then we’ll engage in ritual to further this connection and receive what arises. As Rabbi Yissachar Dov of Sloczow says, “At the time you return to God out of love…realizing that there is no place devoid of God, everything is once more filled with God’s glory. There is no room for destructiveness, no empty space where it can stand…Because it has no place to stand as it was, it has to be turned into a servant of God.” Maybe this is overly sanguine, but this realization will be part of our avodah. The terrain at the Habitat is very flat, and it has some shade but be prepared for sun [hats, water, etc]. We’ll go for about two hours, give or take depending on the weather.
